Default Educate me please !

I've wonder for awhile about Corvette options, I'm no corvette nut who knows everthing down to the bolt sizes) I love Corvettes, But what are some of the notable options on an C5 / C6 Corvette ?

Like what is so important about a 'Z51' option ? and what ae some of the other, "Special" options that someone looking to buy a used C6 would make it a special higher priced model against any other ? Help me please.

The only truly rare C5 options will be certain color combos. There weren't any super limited runs. C6 rare packages will be certain colors but some special editions like pace cars, Ron Fellows Z06s,4LT,Z06 Carbon will likely bring premium prices. I am guessing the Ron Fellows and the Carbon will likely bring the highest collector money years from now. C5 it will remain to be seen how much colors will impact pricing. If it does expect gold and purple to fetch top dollar. I believe only 14 gold were made...

As with all cars, Low miles and condition will command best prices of the C5 generation Corvette. The other options of each individual
Vette will add to that base. Each little thing adds to the value and to the true Corvette enthusiast that is what they will be looking for when searching for a rare or special Vette. There are certain C5's out there that will be the one to find and have that will be the benchmark of all of the generation. May be another 10 years but it will happen just like all the other generations of Corvette. Hope mine will be one and hope I will still have it.

A used C6 with the Z51, Navigation, and NPP dual mode exhaust, will be more than a base model. '07 and older are fetching quite a bit less than the '08 and newer due to the LS3 being a much more desirable engine. Some C6's have 2 tone seats as well.

I'm rather ignorant to the different models, but the one that comes to mind is the INDY pace car that was a E85 green and white paintwork. What does the Z51 option break down to ?

Upgraded brakes and suspension. In manual 08+ they have unique gear ratios.

You should buy yourself a "Corvette Black ook" from the museum. And join the museum as well!
