Default LS1 Displacement

I received a Corvette Poster Data Sheet for a gift and have a question. This poster shows the specs for Corvettes from 1953 through 2009.

It shows the '97 through '03 C5s as having a 5.7 litre 350 cubic inch engine, but shows the '04 as haveving a 5.7L 346 C.I. engine.

I thought all LS1 engines in the C5 were 346 cubic inches. So which is right: the poster or my memory?

All LS1 & LS6 engine are 5.7 liters. so if you have a 5.7 liter, you will have 346 cubic inches.

P.S. The pictures also incorrectly showed some models of C4s with the HMSL (high mounted stoplight) which was not on approx '91 and later.

Overall I still like the poster which is framed and in my garage, even if it is not completely accurate.

I think the 89 ZR1 had the third brake light.

All LS1 and LS6 engines were 346 ci. They were labeled as 5.7L too.

All 90-95 ZR-1s have the HMSL.

I think they stuck with 350 because of old school times. "Tree Fiddy" sounds better than "Tree foe-ty six"

Hi Quick Draw -

Your memory is correct, and that poster data is suspect.

I have a similar poster, and I noticed right away that many of the pictures of the C5's on the poster have front calipers on both ends.

It looks good on the wall, and should not be used as a reference.

best regards -

Thanks! I had not noticed this. My '93 LT1 Coupe did not have the HMSL.

Good catch! I agree that it looks good on the wall and is neat to see pics of the various model years, but should not be trusted for accuracy.

I think we've made the point, looks like OP really isn't participating in the thread yet -- let's see if he has any further questions.

The LS1 has a 99mm bore and a 92mm stroke, which yields 5.665 liters, or just shy of 346 cu ins.

This thread is over a decade old. I doubt the OP is going to suddenly start participating now.
