This is going to sound like a lot of the other posts but I have always loved cars, from 5 years old and for some reason focused on GM but mostly chevy's. I grew up in the 60's and 70's and the baddest car on the road back then was a corvette, the mystique, the beauty of it and if you had one, you had the best and only American sportscar ever built. I bought my first one new in 1980 at age 26, I was in heaven. If you are a car guy, then you knew you had arrived if you owned a 'vette. The C5 is the best damned, best looking American sportscar ever built. I will do everything in my power to always own a corvette until I die.

Dad took me to the Corvette plant in 96 to see the last of the C4s being produced. I instantly fell in love with the Corvette and knew I had to have one. I was 12 years old then. When I turned 24 I bought my first vette. A C5. I'm on my second C5 now and first Z06.
I've been back to the plant to see the last of the C5s and C6s and I'm sure I'll go back and see the C7s too. The museum is ever changing as well and there is always something really neat to see. My favorite display is still the one of Zora Arkus-Duntov's personal 454 ‘74 Coupe.

I got tired of working on my 1929 Model A Street rod and once I drove a C5--well, that's all she wrote, had to have one. once I bought my 2000 Vert I lost interest in the rod and it simply sat while I drove the C5. If ya don't drive em--sell em!!

Because I finally could.
My parents neighbor brought home a brand new split window coupe in 1963,and it was love at first sight.(I was 10)
About that 63 Coupe- The couple that had it ended up getting a divorce in appx. 1968,and she kept the Vette, not because she wanted it,just because she was a vindictive b**ch,and didn't want him to have it.
It sat in the garage for 34 years-seriously...she never drove it until she finally sold it in 2002.
Not only was she vindictive, but she was also stupid-she sold it for $3000.00 (figuring it was too old to be worth much)
Don't know if you've priced '63 split window coupes lately, but she definitely got what she deserved....

My first corvette was a new 62 that I ordered with high performance 327 cu in, 4 speed, positraction rear, inspired by the ROUTE 66 SERIES. Also ordered chrome reverse wheel with spinners that were on the Route 66 Corvette.

Natural progression. Had many of the muscle cars and always had a nice car but needed a back seat so a vette was out of the question even though I wanted one. Timing was right when I decided to get one and the back seat was no longer an issue.

my dad had a C4 when i was 12 but i loved Vette's since i can remember. Then i had a couple Camaro's and always looked at them as the poor mans Vette
Well when the oppertunity arose to get a C5 i jumped all over it. Couldn't be happier

I can remember falling in love with the car after seeing a commercial for a 63 vette and I was hooked. It took me another 40 years plus to get one but I finally did in 2003 when I got my 2000 trip black......

I was 14 when my Dad bought a 62', triple black, 4 speed with 340 H.P.
I remember being in the front yard when he brought it home. He stopped about a block from the house, and STOOD on it!! I was hooked from that moment on! I learned to drive in that 62', and it's been a lifelong love affair with Corvette's ever since!!
