Vibration @ 70+ mph
I feel this strange vibration coming from the trunk space of my 2002 Z06 when I go past 73 mph.
I can hear the speakers on the passenger side wrattling and any speed below 69 and it'll stop doing it.
what could it be?
I do need new tires because my rear one has a slow leak and that's the only thing I could think of

1st thing that pops into the mind is wheel weights!
But since you are in need of tires you will be suprised at the difference they are going to make!
Now, it is possible and if all else fails that the Torque Tube bushings are worn and are in need of replacing!
(Hard launches can wear them down
)
Thanks,Matt

I'd say that you've lost a wheel weight.

Get the new tires and have the wheels balanced. That would be my first step.

Not a problem I've had on the Vette but my DD had the same and, as expected, it was a balance issue.

I agree too with the balance. The usual causes are tires and alignment

I had a similar problem and it turned out to be un-even tire wear. New tires and life was good!

Don't forget alignment
Your problem is probably balance , but if you're getting new tires, be sure to have a 4-wheel alignment.
If toe is not set properly at the rear, radial ties will do a run-out/snap-back that you'll swear is a balance problem. It can get so bad that you'll even think a bearing is going out. It will cause a diagonal wear pattern on the tread. If it goes that far, the tire is trash.
