Budget less than $1000, but would go up for the right sort of deal.
Features a must:
A good Nav system
Ipod / I phone hookup
Sirius / XM
Features I would love:
Harddrive!
What do you recommend?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
Thanks for your order

Here is the breakdown
Kenwood NAv is hands down the best as it is Garmin based. The newest units will be arrivng soon.
The 6980 is one of my favorite recommendations
You will have NAV, BT, DVD, Navteq, Pandora, options to add Sirius, 2 year warranty remote everything you will want. Price will be in range but I cant tell you what my cost is on these due to MAP pricing with Kenwood
The 9980HD is the 6980 with a full screen, built in hd radio, and alot more features for audio. This is the top dog to me and we have already sold 52 of these and they will not be shipping until April.
Pioneer
The x930bt or z130bt
The Pioneer nav is tele atlas based.
NAV with Pioneer is ok nothing to be concerned about its just not as good as KEnwood.
Pioneer Ipod features are awesome and better than Kenwood.
You can get Sirius and Xm for Pioneer.
HD radio is also an option to add as well.
You can not go wrong with either.
Call me direct if you like and we can discuss and figure out which is best for you
Dennis at Double-D Mods (c5 BearsFan) is tops for these system mods.
He has a list running for those who want to get one as they come in. He also has the modified console bezel for the double din install, and all the proper harnesses in his packages.
You can pull your system preserving the original parts and drop in a custom that looks factory original.
Nice ad, the end gives you a quick glance at the system as a whole.

Question, Have you ever done a complete tear out and wired new speakers, amp and head unit and been able to have On-Star come through the new speakers with volume control?

I've got a kenwood. Love it, but $1000 might not get you everything you listed. It will be close.
