On the CTEK chargers, does the C5 have a hidden port in the back of the car like the C7 (C6?) where you can connnect the charger instead of a direct connect to the battery?

Also, is there an accessory to charge via the dash lighter or center console port? What about the comfort indicator that you can plug into the dash for charging status. Worth it?

No port in the C5 trunk. You can charge your C5 through the cigarette lighter or the battery but I suggest you plug the CTEK in to a surge suppressor or remove the battery from the car to eliminate any risk of damage to any of the corvette's systems.

Thanks. After owning the car for 11 years, I never saw any type of hidden port, however I thought I had seen a picture of an access point through the license plate/rear fascia, but could be wrong.

I also don't plan to charge through the cigarette lighter but was curious if I could. Also, I'm curious to know if those cigarette lighter status indicators are worth the extra $15. Probably not worth it since the charger has indicator built in.

Actually the cigarette adaptor is very convenient, you don't have to worry about the clips falling off and they do a good job keeping the battery charged. I put down the window about an inch and plug it it the lighter. Again, be warned about power surges as these chargers will not protect you 100% against damage to your car's systems. I know.

I cannot stake my life on it, but I've read that the desulfination feature of these battery chargers do not work as well, if you use these auxiliary connections (cigar lighter connector, etc).

For them to work properly, you should have the leads connected directly to the battery. Again, I cannot vouch one way or the other, but it might be something to investigate a bit.

I only use mine connected to the cigarette lighter adapter and have done so for 3 years.

Got one of these chargers with my car when delivered, it is now 1 year old, put my car away for the winter in November, plugged it in, and it was working fine then, came home to reuse my car the middle of April, the battery is dead and the charger no longer works....anyone else had problems with these chargers, I have used HF small trickle chargers on my other vehicles for over 5 years, they always work and never a problem, I get this expensive unit with the vette and it dies in the second year....any ideas ????? Are these covered by any warranty ?? thanks for any/all input...

The CTEK Battery Charger is the smartest battery charger on the market, period.....Included as an OEM component on many high end cars, it simply cannot be beat when you compare features/price to other chargers on the market. It is outdoor certified, small enough to mount anywhere on your car, dust proof, shock proof, spark proof, and get this-->reverse polarity protected (smart enough to know if you have the red and black wires reversed

The CTEK is one of the few battery chargers you can leave connected to your battery while it is connected to the car without risk of damaging your vehicles computer. You can leave it connected for months and months without worry of damaging your battery as it is constantly conditioning your battery instead of just keeping it charged.

We have sold hundreds of the CTEK brand chargers for the last few years and have been able to negotiate a great price for an awesome charger.

Check it out at the link below....in stock and ready to ship! Trust me, no other charger on the market even comes close to this one and our price is hard to beat. Lots more information and informative video at the link below.

Note: Use coupon code "ctek" during checkout for additional discounts.
