Besides what was already given, all 200 Corvette's had the LS1 engine rated at 345 hp. in 2001 the FRC became the Z06 and with the refinements to the engine the hp rating was increased to 385. In 2002 the hp went up to 405.The Z06 also had different heads then the base Corvette. There were a few more difference also, the Z06 had a modified air cleaner, higher capacity fuel injectors. They also had the titanium exhaust system.

The Z-06 has different transmission, the MN12, while the coupe and vert had the MN6. The Z trans had deeper 1st, 2nd and third gears. Both cars had the 3.42 rear.

The Z has different engine block then the 97 to 00 LS1(The LS1 and the LS6 shared the same block from 01 to 04), heads, cams, valves and exhaust system. The computer calibration is also different.

Fixed

I thought that the block was the same in the base Corvette as well as the Z06, but the heads, cam, injectors, and exhaust were the difference in the LS1 to the LS6. I may be wrong.

The LS1 and the Ls6 were the same block from 2001 to 2004. The base LS1 used the LS6 block when it came out.

Actually they are the same, its the 97 to 2000 LS1 blocks that were differnt from the later models

That is what I always understood, but you first post said just the opposite.
