The only thing I could think to protect your engine would be to put some plastic between your intake and Throttle body and reinstall it. But unfortunately if the water is high enough to get in your throttlebody you will have much bigger problems as the PCM(and your interior) are much lower.
I hope you and everyone else is ok over there. Stay safe.
You must be new to the Islands. As we say here, "Wuz no big ting, bruda!" Especially if you are 1/2 mile from the ocean or 50 feet above sea level. Check the front of the Yellow Pages for areas in danger of tsunamis. If you reside/work in those areas - FLEE!!!
As for damage: Kauai & Oahu had minimal damage. Maui & the Big Island (Hawaii) had it just a "little" worst. The biggest swell was just over 6 feet (Maui). Overall - Some damage to boats in port and coastal property due to surge. All in all, we made out ok.
What island are you on. Was mostly the wife freaking out. I was trying to sleep through it. Been here a little over 3 years.
I'm on Oahu in Kaneohe. By the accounts of last nights news and this mornings newspaper I'd say things where just a tad worst than I was lead to believe. Haleiwa, and Hawaii Kai got the worst of it here. Big Island bore the brunt of the wave. However still minor in my experience.
Damn, I didn't even think about corvetteforums or else I would have invited you guys up for a BBQ or something. No way any water would have made it up my way.
