Thanks for the upbeat info... Again, I have never leaked tested after replacing the reveal moulding and weatherstripping.

Hopefully, I'm good

On a side note: My son and I have been playing with Crown Vics which is a lot cheaper

We put his helper inside the trunk area closed it up, got the water hose out on about half throttle and started at the bottom and worked our way up, boom there it was, mine was coming in right above the fuel fill door..

I have heard of leaks up by the front passenger door and also once in a while the AC tube drain will plug up and leak inside the foot space on the passenger side..

Bringing back from the dead as I noticed my 03Z on the driver side has the dreaded crack that is all over this thread. Here is a pic for reference:

I have tried searching on www.paceperformance.com as I usually get my GM parts from there. However, it's not showing the below listed numbers for the molding.

The old part numbers: 10422996, 10422997
Have been replaced by: 10331562, 10331563
Did GM discontinue this part? Is there anyone out there that has been able to source a reproduction one?

Well never mind. I should have looked at GM parts house website. I found it:
http://store.gmpartshouse.com/parts/...&siteid=214638

$194 for the molding. Is it made of gold?

Mine was cracked on the passenger side. Had my car at the dealership for some paint work and the body man filled it in with something. Did it for no charge. Can hardly tell there is anything there and no leaks.

Total price with labor: $716.46

They did tell me that replacing weatherstripping might not be necessary if the original one can be removed without damage.

Might go with the silicone method somebody posted about.
It's a stealership. How could anyone be surprised they are raping you?. I need to reace mine to

Can you find out what he used to fill the crack? That info might be helpful to people with minor cracking.

I'll ask him. He had left for the day when I picked the car up, though I did send him a thank you note.

I ordered mine from Gene at cultrag?? He is a GM parts vendor here. The were expensive then so I'm sure the price isn't cheaper now. Use caulk and good luck.

Does this issue only occur on Zs and FRCs?

Yes, they are the only ones with the "Reveal Moulding" over the doors.
