I just changed my old Goodyear run flats to Hancooks. The differance in the ride and handling is unbleaveable. Also bought a small tire repair kit with compressor at wally world and have AAA.
Same here, but I have zero miles on mine as one wheel had a problem. I have heard very good things about them.
I just bought a complete set of Michelin PS/2 ZP, and I don't know why I waited this long. The original Good-years are a world apart from the Michelin's. In every aspect the Michelin's the ride and handling are 100% better. It's all good !
The question is, what do you recommend as a tire brand/model for a softer ride other than the Michlens. They are pretty expensive and I am trying to get the softest ride for the best price. Again, I don't need great handling since I don't drive the car aggressively.
The Michelin PS2 tires are the best tires available, but they're more tire than you need if you do nothing more than gentle cruising. If you want the smoothest riding, quietest tires at an extremely reasonable price, you can't beat the General Exclaim UHPs.
Hey Dean , Man ive been running my Michelin PS2's.
for four years now and these tire still ride, handle and are quiet as heck like still new. and believe it or not still have great tread for constant 6800 rpm rides Get a set and youll love them, But if you are still looking at rims ,maybe move everything up to 19s and 18 to the Z06 size.bye the way from what ive seen of the new Vette it looks great you must have gotten tire of all of the large power you had .

I have read a lot about non run flats lately.....hard decision. I have had the GY DS 3s before...not bad....went with Falken 452s and they were good. Had a hard time deciding with 452s and the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval. Good reviews with both but finally decided on the Wide Oval. Read reviews on Tire Rack and Surveys. Price was right, too. Don't have the paperwork with me but believe it was something like $760 out the door. Will have them put on Friday. I bought them in Kentucky so tax lower than some. 15% off each tire on Firestone website through March.

I just got a set of Kumho Ecsta XS's and I'm pretty impressed. I hook very well so long as I don't stomp on it. Before that I ran multiple sets of Michelin PS2's and loved those. I wanted something with close to or the same performance as a PS2 but for less money and this is what was recommended. I also almost never drive in the rain and wanted strictly a dry, summer tire (Arizona FTW). Almost went with an R compund tire but found out they are pretty impractical for primarily street driving.
Another vote for General UHP's here. Look closely at the info and you'll find they're made in europe - most likely by Michelin or Perelli(?). Great on the street and equally good on the track. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the only thing better on the track may be actual race compound tires.
I've had them for a couple of years now and I will most likely buy another set when these wear out.

Got my Continental ExtremeContact DW's yesterday. Rated #1 Max Performance Summer tire.
I was looking at the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval Indy 500 rated #1 Ultra High Performance Summer tire and cheaper but the Firestone weighed 3 lbs more per tire and I was looking for the lightest tire for my application.
I put a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position's on mine 15 months ago(8,000mi). Very pleased with them, very smooth and quite on the highway which is what I was looking for as well as mileage. They have a 400AA-A UTQG(wear rating)which is the highest I seen on Tire Rack's spec page for C5 stock sizes. They came out with 11/32's, still got 9/32's+. I would buy another set if I had to do over again.
don't forget that when looking at the wear/temp ratings for a tire, that they are only comparable to other tires of that brand. So a 400AA-A in a bridgestone, is not the same as a 400AA-A in a michelin. Just a heads up.
Thanks for all the feedback. I decided on Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus. I replaced the Kumho run-flats which were on the car when I bought it. The difference between the ride with the Michelin and Kumho's is unbelievable. The Kumho's were very harsh and the Michelin's are very smooth and very quiet.
So for what it's worth, I highly recommend the Michelin's. As it was said in one of the previous posts, I also have AAA since these tires are not run-flats.
