Since I have started driving and even before, I have been nodding cars. Now, I have a Corvette and all I want to do ismake it better.
My wife hates when I spend money on mods, she says then we will have to repair something else or something like that. She says one day I will grow out of it, but it sure is hard working 80 hours a week, make about 80k a year and being told that I should keep the car stock.
Mine started the day I drove it home and could not hear the sound of it. Had to change the exhaust right away. After that I just kept changing things on it to make it better, The only way to stop it is to sell the car
once the modding bug bites there is no going back. my recommendation is to sit down and explain to your wife that the only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys. if that doesn't work, get a new wife.
or you can do what I do, for Valentine's Day, I got the wife a new custom nose emblem for the C5, for our Anniversary, she's getting new leather seat covers including new foam, and for her birthday, I'm REALLY going to splurge & get her the wheels I've been wanting... oh oh... I mean... the wheels SHE'S really been wanting! It just seems like yesterday, she was saying, "Gee Honey I really want those set of 19" -20" rims in carbon fiber!"

It is just like any other addiction - there will be withdrawls and set backs! and these are worse than any other withdrawl symtom - so you can't get rid of it!
it's in you blood and it is "TERMINAL" - although you wont die from it, you "WILL" have to live with it and try to manage it carefully
I manage mine by trying to buy samller things which has lead to a 701 RWHP Vette and I just got a new catalog from WCC and circled alot of things
There is no cure. There will always be another mod lurking around the corner. Have you looked at the free/do it yourself mod thread? That will keep you busy for a while and save some $.

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one! As soon as I got my C5Z, within a week, I already was doing upgrades to it. It has been over 4 years now and they still keep coming although I tell myself "I'm done" now.
If you are working 80 hours a week you sure as hell deserve to spend your money the way you want to. I'm sure your wife will get over it. I don't have my Z yet but I am really worried once I get it I will be modding it out the waazoo!!! Looking forward to catching the bug in the near future!!!
There's a cure but it's really to upsetting to talk about. However it should be mentioned at least once in this post. 3 steps to the cure:
1.) sell the car...extremely difficult to do and I personally haven't got the ***** to do
2.) cancel all magazine subscriptions...should be easier than step 1
3.) ride public transportation and never own another vehicle...not even a go kart...shouldn't be a problem after steps 1&2
whenever I try and shake the bug it last about a day and then I call up a supporting vendor and spend some $$$.
I use the saying, that it's better doing what I want to do to a car that's paid for. Than getting a new one w/ payments and still want to mod it. They always say, us addicts exchange one addictions for another. Well 10yrs ago stopped two addictions, then bought the vette 6yrs ago and it was on! I guess I could use a 12 step program on it if I wanted, BUT I DON'T. My name is FLASH and I'm addicted to Corvette mods. L8R THE FLASH
I am like the ZFLASH when it comes to addictions!! Gave up Drinking 6yrs ago and bought a
vette and have been addicted to mods ever since. In the process of installing a RPM A4 trans. and a Yank SS 3200 converter after a H/C swap. I would not change a thing.
"LONG LIVE THE MODS"
