New member here. Have had my vette for a year now. Live in Chicago so I only have had my car out a 3 times this year. Now I wish I kept it in the garage for a few more weeks. Here is why. So I take it to my place of business. Park it on the side street. Safer then my parking lot because it is a bar. Well some kids decide to tag/spray paint the whole town. 32 cars, buildings in all. My 2001 white vert being one of them. Can spray paint be buffed out? they hit both quarter panels, rear, trunk lid, passenger door and window. Don't really want to do a claim because my car fax is clean but if it needs to get repainted I guess I have no choice. It just kills me that 4 kids went around all day doing this and did not get caught. I have cameras on my building but they are not good enough quality to see faces 100 feet away that is how I know how many kids did it. Been reading posts for about a year now and am glad to now be a member.
Hopefully there's evidence somewhere that will track them down.
If the damage is extensive I'd say you'll need to get a professional on the job. Either way, a claen up or a respray will cost $$. For that I'd go the insurance route.
I've had some luck with WD-40 on some types of paint. The sooner you try to get it off the better. Cold night in Chicago the paint probably didn't set up too fast.
Sorry to hear about what happened, I know how I would feel. First thing to do is bring it to a reputable auto body shop and they should be able to wet sand the car and give it a good buff and it should look as good if not better than before. The shame of it is the time and money your gonna have to spend that you should not have had to go through. I hope they catch these punks and print their pics in the local paper. Good luck bro!

It's not going to have that negative effect on your Carfax.
Yes I have comp ins. Under the deductible so no claim
You should get zero duct for comp as you will need a windshield someday soon and your looking @ BIG bucks for that$$$. My vette is a 2004 purchased new and have had to replace three of them. Got the zero duct after the second windshield.
Paint reducer should take it off and will not affect the paint.
I successfully, and without damage, removed a major amount of tag spray paint from a Ford Pickup once using a paint reducer. Catching it earlier is better and of course wax and buff after.
It's worth a shot before you do something major like sand and repaint. Try it on a small portion first.
