Default Thorough Oil Change

Does anyone disconnect their oil line(s) when doing an oil change to get all used oil out? I've searched & searched.

Seems logical not to leave a quart of spent oil...

I'm looking for the best way / tricks too make it easy and reliable.

(If you look at my profile, yes, I have a C6 but it's retrofitted with a Z06 cooler, Thanks.)

I think that's a bit of overkill. I just got my vette out of storage and changed the oil...jacked the rear higher than the front and let it drain until it completely stopped dripping. I refilled the oil and put in just about exactly 6.5 quarts to the full line on the dipstick. That tells me I got about as much oil out as possible.

You are in the wrong forum. C5Z06's did not come with oil coolers. However, I have one. Most people, myself included, do not drain the oil cooler when changing the oil. Leaving one quart in what is now about an 8 quart system is no big deal. Probably a lot less damaging than draining it every time and having the engine run with no oil pressure for the extra time it takes for the pump to fill the oil cooler.

With just a cooler, no. But if it was a C6Z dry sump, yes disconnect the dry sump lines.
