But it's like your first true love, you can never truly replace it!

You don't mention how long you will be in Hawaii, but why not take the car there? There are a number of forum members that live there and have a C5 to drive. While there are not many places you can stretch the Corvette's legs, it could still be a fun car while there.
I don't know how long you have had the car, but obviously it would have deprecited a bit since then - and the current offer is $4K above what you originally paid for it. So, if you have put $40K in mods on the car, you have nearly $60K invested in the car - heck of a hit to take if you sell it at the $23.5K price. Before I would do that, I think I would just store it at your Dad's and then when you get back, you'll be able to enjoy it again.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do. I know it is a very tough decision.

it has alot of power and i dont really trust other people driving it. i would do my best to preserve it properly
Cut you losses now. Counter the offer and reach a settlement. 4 yrs is a long time (for you, not me)

It's been 9 yrs in between this C5 i got last December and the C4 in had. The only way I'm parting with this car is when i take the Dirt Nap

p.s. with the number of military stationed there, I gotta believe you'll find a motivated buyer when you are ready to sell it.

1, Ship it and enjoy while you are away. Driving it there would get you known quickly and might increase your enjoyment. But
then what is there not to enjoy?
2. Part it out and hopefully get you money back. You'll never recoup your investment - especially on the forum. 40 -50 cents
on a dollar if your lucky.
In any case car looks great and I'm sure during the four years you would really enjoy having it with you.

the owner i bought it from had the mods put on and gave me all his reciepts
i will probly keep it and wasnt even advertising it being for sale. one of the pilots at work just came up to and said " i heard you got orders, ill give you 23 for your car"
i love this car and if i sold it i would look at c6 z06's
