One might think I'd get a good price since they are in Florida? I'm 5 min off an interstate in both places. Go figure. May have to check Uhaul for a trailer and haul it myself (if it will go on their trailer?)

The cost to move your car from Florida to Michigan will be $1177.00.
That is a door to door rate as long as it is accessible for the truck.
Payment method is to be cash or certified check on pick up or delivery
or you may also call in a credit card some time prior to delivery. The
method of payment does not affect the price.
Please let me know if you wish to book the transport.
Thank you for thinking of us.

something you could try,
Tell her Ryan Passini said you guys were the best and that you recently shipped his corvette from GA to Wisconsin for 875 and you were hoping you could have it close to the same.

Tiffany was super nice and awesome to me. And at this point, its worth a shot.

Respect your views MG red but thats something myself I would not do.
Picked up a corp move load of 7 units. Most were young people that had been in a school provided by the employer in Calif. They were in Charlotte . When I got there every one of their cars looks like there were ready to paint. Sometimes you know when to keep your mouth shut.
Might be a good idea if god worked with the owners but let it rain then let that sun bake that glue on there at 75mph and what happens to tape when it gets wet then the wind takes the tape off and the glue stays to collect every thing it can grab..??
When the units arrived and those kids tried to peel what was left of that blue type off, every one of them had that deer in the head light look. All I could do was smile and say sorry...
I put over 4500 cars on the gound last year and will do about the same in 2011 with not the first rock chip or damage. If we scratch it we buy it and all I haul now is new.
Gentleman, Both closed and open are a great way to transport your unit or units depending on how many you have. If its important for it to be clean when it arrives and that peace of mind is important then closed is the way to go.
If the extra 600 to 800 for two units is more than you want to pay the open is just as safe as the closed.
Lots of fables, storys and fixes like the blue tape about this and that but bottom line both open or closed, one is just as good as the other. Its the choice of the owner in which he choises and for what reason but chips, scraps, flying birds, or airplains falling out the sky... its the driver/loader that your putting all your faith in. Not all this other i've heard storys.
MG Red want you to know in no way am I trying to discredit your view but I've seen about every thing anyone can try pull or think about and glue anything mixed with water with a 75mph hair dryer just is not a real good idea.

i went closed simply because I had no clue what kind of weather would be coming through at the time. And Im not going to let my car sit on top of a hauler when theres 12 inches of snow and ice being dumped onto it.

I had a convertible deliver via open transport from Florida to Minnesota. If you have a rag top make sure it's on placed on the top of the transport. You don't need any fluid stains on your top.

Thats standard issue. We all know how pickie you guys with the corvettes are....

Rtpassin,, very good point. In winter and if I were shipping mine north and was not sure on the weather I'd be right there with you... Closed........

If your lowered and less than 6 inches body/ground don't even consider a open.
As soon as you say corvette your broker will or should ask you how low it is. Do not lie guys. IF the transport arrives and your lower than 6 your going to pay more or sign a release.
Closed is the only way to go if you have your vette lowered. Thats why you pay more. Those trailers are custom designed for the Exotic units.

Ryan, not to try and embarrass you in any way but for your future referance Tiffany (Exotic Transport) denied (3/30 @ 11:20am) that she ever transported anything under your name and and certainly (sniffing) WOULD NOT transport from GA Wisc for only $875. She can't ship me for any less than the quoted price of $1177. I think her attitude sux and eliminated them from my list. Thanks for you help and I regret the confusion but I thought you outta know. Theres enough BS in transport without her additional drama. Looking like I'm going open for $500 less with United Road who shipped this car for the previous owner (bone stock height etc.) under Northland Auto Transporters which United Road consolidated with. They have generally good reviews on transportreviews.com and based near my home. If anyone has experience with them please post it here.

What a bitch. Haha. No embarassment for me. I was just hoping by calling her I out that they recently shipped cheaper it would get you a deal. Oh well. Strange that they would do that. And obviously they did ship my car. There's pics! Sorry I couldn't help you out
