Ok I have been reading around and cannot decide which Ls to put in my 98 coupe. My car has 170xxx miles so id figured sooner or later I could upgrade with a new engine and transmission. I want to keep the cost under what buying another c5 would be. I cant decide between the ls6 or ls2? I also cannot find an area here in Texas that would do all this for me. What would you guys recommend or what do you have in your car? Please help me with links and stuff so I can get a base price and start saving for it. I appreciate all your help

Take your time and find one on f/s forum page. There was a couple of good ones just a few weeks ago. I rushed into my CCW's and then they were all over the place for sale, unless you need it in a hurry, just my 2 cents. L8R THE FLASH
Pretty much the exact same ones you would need to do to fit an LS2 in there!
Why do you want a new engine in the first place?

More performance and previous owners didn't take care of car well. So I figured instead of doing a h/c package I could just waste a little more and practically get a new car )

We did a complete refresh on a high mileage 1997 - brand new LS6 crate engine with LS7 clutch, new RPM transmission and RPM differential, new torque tube, new shocks and new seats. Only performance mods were cold air intake, headers and a dyno tune.
Customer owned the car outright and had sentimental reason for refreshing the car instead of selling it and buying something newer (or new). Refresh cost circa $19,000.
