This is one of those items that allows you to be stopped if the LEO decides to pull you over. I was stopped about 30 yrs ago for not having a front plate, back when the spped limit was 55. The officer saw me go by a little fast just as he was finishing writing up someone else.
Funny thing, I get home and tell my folks about it. My dad said, better be careful for the next two weeks they will be watching everything you do. Sure enough, whenever I hit the freeway for the next two weeks, the CHP would get behind me and sit there for a while. Strange but true.
