I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Nitto Invos. http://nittotire.com/index.html#index.tire.invo
They're like the most perfect daily driver tire out there.

Bought a set of Michelin PS A/S 3, Love Them
After reading several reviews and posts, I decided to purchase a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 tires and could not be happier with the ride and quietness of the tires, compared to the GoodYear Run Flats. I also bought new TPMS sensors and Service Kits all around. One of the sensors had become tempermental.
I have a small compressor, and am on the fence whether to buy some Fix-A-Flat to keep in the car.

I researched this very question for months. I finally went with Michelin Pilot Sport AS 3's. I did call Tire Rack, they highly recommended this tire. I also bought a slime repair kit for emergencies and a tire plug kit. After three weeks, I would never go back to run flats. Night and day difference in ride and noise. Great tire so far.

I had the fortunate opportunity to have new Michelin Pilot Sport AS non run flats on my car, then tried a brand new set of the ZP versions. Much harsher ride, and noisier. Drove them for about a week, then went back to the non-runs flats.........much smoother, and quieter.
I also tried a brand new set of Hankook V12s non run flats, harsher ride and noisier than the Michelin Pilot Sport AS non run flats.
The Michelin Pilot Sport AS non-run flats are I think the quietest and smoothest running tire you can get for a C5.
The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S non-run-flat has now been replaced by the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 non-run-flat. One difference I believe is that they are not directional and you can at least "rotate" the fronts/rears with each other for extended tire life.

Melting Slicks
Michelins are the top of the line and I really liked the ones I had, but they were the ZP's and I didn't have the car long enough after they were put on to see if they got harder and noisier with age.
Now have the Bridgestone Potenza RE760E's and am quite happy with them. Less than $800 for the set, about 1/2 the cost of the Michelins and they are very quiet and smooth riding. Have had them about a year now, approx. 9000-10,000 miles and see no appreciable wear yet.

I bought the Michelin Sport Pilot A/S 3(non run flat). I can't believe they are so quiet vs my original Goodyears. I can now hear the engine and who knew I had a radio!

Been trying to locate these tires but no one has them in stock. Micheling also states that they may be discontinuing them

I'm running Hankooks and am very pleased. Quiet and good handling. Maybe not as good as the Michelins, I don't know, but less expensive in any event.

This was from a 5 year old post... they probably are discontinued...
Nitto, Hankook, Michelin, Goodyear... lots to choose from all get good reviews...I'm running Nitto but will probably switch to Hankook next go round...
