A local in either the SHCC or COCH has done it to his car. The kicker is he needs a second aftermarket fob on his keychain. This makes his keyring enormous....

I'll bet.
I'd much rather have a hidden kill-switch than a push-start button though.
Silly idea, comes up every few months and dies-why hack an already touch ignition system for this? It's not even all that cool-all cars/trucks used to have push button start-It was on the FLOOR! Still can't figure out why people think this is cool or worth spending gobs of money on to try to do it.
I would of never even thought about doing it, until I owned a car that had it. I had a g35 and the proximity stuff spoils you after using it for awhile.....
If someone came out with a reliable, relatively inexpensive system I would throw one on my c5. I just do not see it happening.....
I think it's a cool idea, but as with any push button start you need the fob with you in order to start the car so why not just keep the key system and save yourself the money and potential problems? If the car came with the button start then great, but I would never change one to it.
