Hi all this is my 1st post...
I recently joined the Corvette family with a Topless C5
she has a warhawk 441 ci motor, "I love the torque".
however my brother (LB) noticed a leak from the valve cover turnes out the #&*! that put it on striped the head ie. the bolt was in all the way and i could remove it with 2 fingers ( there are no threads to catch)

Heli-Coil®

When installed into Heli-Coil STI tapped holes, inserts provide permanent conventional 60° internal screw threads that accommodate any standard bolt or screw.

Heli-Coil threaded inserts boast a high wearing tensile strength, low thread friction with tight tolerances, and a high surface quality as well as corrosive- and heat-resistant properties.

With Heli-Coil threads, tapped holes are strengthened and thread life is dramatically increased even after repeated assembly and disassembly. Tapped holes are easily incorporated into existing designs.

Heli-Coil offers a complete line of tooling from hand, pneumatic, and electronic installation tools to STI taps, gages, and tang break-off tools. Free running and screw lock Inserts are available in a wide choice of materials to suit specific application needs.

Significant savings can be achieved with reduced space and weight through the elimination of typical mechanical locks, toxic chemicals, or other locking mechanisms.

Heli-Coil products are used with confidence in the aerospace, electronics, automotive, telecommunications, and defense industries, where quality and performance is a must

I agree with Kevin - it can be fixed either by you or by a good shop.
