Opinions wanted - Hypertech III
I have an oportunity to pic up a Hypertech III 30011 and need some opinions on this unit. I should be able to pick it up for under $100. I need opinions to determine if this unit would be worth my money even if I do get it for a reasonable price. I'm not looking to do any major engine mods, possibly a CAI and maybe headers in the distant future. I've recently changed wheels and may need to adjust my speedo to match the changed size in tires. I've not found much info about this unit and whether the tune it provides makes any difference in performance.
If anyone has had this unit or knows much about it please post your responses. I'm open to all opinions, good and bad. Thanks

I have one for my 03 A4. The tune seems to do what it says. (2-5% mileage increase) It can reprogram for different tire sizes--sounds like what YOU need. If you want a performance/track tune--go to a pro tuner. If you buy a used one make sure it has sent the factory tune back into the previous car to reset it--these are good for ONE vehicle at a time.

I had one at one time, sold it for $75 dollars. I didn't notice a thing except it would hesitate shifting when floored on the highway, I removed the settings and put them back to original and never had the problem again. Junk. I would save your money for a nice steak dinner instead.
