I don't really know about the ebay fixers. I went with ABSFixer and it ends up being more than $150 when you include the shipping. I'm not unhappy and I did go with the extra surge suppressor option. Cost me over $250 with shipping, but I now have a working unit. The alternitive is much more at a dealership.
If you have pulled your codes and have the C1214 code ( I hope that's right) then you will need to get the EBCM fixed. Try one of the ebay places. Let us know how it works out. Make sure you copy all the info off the sticker on your ECBM, module like serial number and version, just to make sure you get the correct/same unit back. I'd say go for it.

I went through a few months back and I talked to a few of the eBay guys and also talked to Brandon at ABSFIXER and after talking to them all I decited to send mine back to Brandon @ ABSFIXER. From the time I sent it out and getting it back was a week, He answered all my questions. Works great, After talking to some of the guys on eBay I felt that they didn't have a clue as to if there fix would fix mine or not.
It's your call, But I had great service from ABSFIXER. Also you can drive your car while the unit is out for repairs, Just no ABS/TC and the steering is off a bit. My repair was no where near 250.
Just my 2 cents.
Mr.Bill
I sent mine to one of the ebay guys. I think the repair was less than $50 total. I have had no issues since the repair (which was well over a year ago). I also tested the ABS, traction control, etc to make sure they work and they do. The nice thing about the repair I had done was it was a lifetime guarantee.
In the last year I have had two modules go bad, first about 10 months ago on my BMW, most recent on my C5 (about 2 months ago). In both cases I used Module Master, BMW was more expensive the vette was 150.00, both worked perfectly fine fast shipping, no issues with either so far.

Yeah, getting the C1214 message. I did indeed check the grounds. I pulled the negative battery terminal to double check that this wasn't a charging/battery issue. Reset everything. When I started the car, no dummy lights or messages.
Then I started driving and about 20 miles in, up came all the messages. ABS, AH and TCS. So it's definitely the EBCM.
ABSFixer has a surge-suppressor option. Anyone know if this is pointless or something worth doing? It's another $50.
Could someone please tell me where the EBCM is located? and maybe take a pic. of it. Im new to c5's had a c4 for 10 years and just learning about c5's. Thanks in advance.
Do not use absfixer! They suck! Never returned emails or calls after their repaired module went bad. So much for warranty. I paid 50 through fleabay. Works great and can reach the guy anytime. Aldo has. Lufetime guarentee. Absfixer=mistake=lies=rip off

He seems to be the only one I have heard of with issues, This isn't the first time he has posted his dilike of ABSFIXER, I have had no issues talking with them at all, Before and after.
He was fast and everything worked great.

Reason I ask is because it's a fairly easy fix. Been meaning to create a write up using links from this forum to 1.Remove the EBCM, 2.Disassemble EBCM, 3. Re-solder the relay 4.Follow steps in reverse.
I've done this with my own EBCM and it works. There are 4 solder points and on mine 2 almost 3 of them were not making contact with the circuit board. Cleaned the points and re-soldered put everything back together, cleared the codes and started her up with no issues since.
I'm not sure what people could be doing to charge $50 or $150-250 for ABSfixer. It really is just a weak solder issue, I guess labor costs? Anyway, if you have any questions about tackling this yourself feel free to ask.

Can I get a copy of this ASAP with pics? Or are you having a mod day down in Sumter anytime soon

Please, I'd love to see a write up. I'm not great at soldering but I'd give it a try. My hands shake now and then. But yes, I prefer to do everything myself.
ATE (auto & truck electronics) - which is on the auction site and the web - is excellent. Great warranty, they do huge volume, lifetime warranty, etc. I think it was $50+shipping. Quick turnaround. Highly recommended.
