As far as the ricers go, In my case it isn't the car, It is the kid behind the wheel, In most cases around here they come running up next to you thinking they are the ****, Reving you at a stop light, Tail gateing you, That is just a few of the things that bother me, I am far from being a snob, I drive in the rain, I let people drive my car, I have a garage and sometimes it sits outside... If a guy in a Evo or STI or ? acts half way human I have plenty time to talk cars with him.
I guess we can blame the movie "The Fast & The Furious".
I had a guy in a Jeep Grand Cherokee wanting to play the other day. Problem is once you get off the line, anyone can drive crazy and fast and Corvettes attract all the players...
I have a feeling that most if not all of the snobs driving Corvettes are snobs when driving their Volvo wagon too. I was out Sunday afternoon in my FRC and encountered a young female across the intersection from me in her ( or daddies ) Corvette and I guess she thought I was going to impede her turn and all I can say is I'm glad neither I or my wife can read lips.
I find that that every type of car or car group has their stereotypes. Usually in a group you'll have one or two that fit that stereotype and unfortunately they're the ones that people notice.
the fact of the matter is that a corvette is a better bang for the buck than 90% of sports cars out there. so yes, we are above most of them, and if they dont agree then they are not car people, because they dont know about cars.
i absolutely love all cars, but this is a known fact, and those who deny it just because they dont have one are just jealous that they spent twice to three times as much on their new car when a 12 year old corvette leaves them in the dust on a road course.
It is the same way around here because most vettes are owned by "older white" men. People at the "bar/club" have made comments as to "yeah he is the guy who owns a Corvette blah blah," but I do talk to anyone I meet. This is a really cool quote from the Fast and The Furios, "I appreciate a fine body, regardless of the make."

Well being a former mustang owner not afraid to say it... This is my second c5 and let me tell you i absolutely love the car..well for me it all started from my dad rip..he had over 50 cars in his life time..god bless him iam a car guy i bleed oil like many others out there i appreciate beauty no matter what the brand.. Had 5 gts a q45 caddys a suburban many others..god there is nothing i love more than driving my speedway white c5 snob no car lover yes closing the garage and grinning priceless....
Most people I find who drive corvettes have a passion for cars, myself included. That's not to say there aren't some out there that think they are better than the rest because they have a corvette, I tend to see that more with C6 owners, but most corvette owners are car guys but like corvettes the most.
I was counting to see how long it would take before a C5 owner wrote this...made it al the way to 7 posts.
Sheeeeesh! Gimmeabreakplease

I think there is natural hierarchy with Corvette owners. My wife and I have been happily married for 14 years. I bought my C5 last month. The other day she told me she liked the C3 better. We are getting a divorce...
Seriously some people are just fools when it comes to how they choose to act. Some of them just happen to own a Corvette. I know a bunch of a$$hats who own BMW's as well. Pretty sure it's not because of their car either

I just like cars, period. 00 vette is my daily driver, when i want to cruise around i pull out the 72 454 convertible. there is even a 68 mustang in the garage that gets its fair share of use. over the years i have owned a 69 mustang that had a built 390/4spd in it that would run circles around my c5, a fully built turbo eclipse that dynoed just over 400 to the front wheels and various motorcycles. In the garage back home the whole family loves cars, there is a 67 camaro, another 00 vette that hasnt seen the light of day in years, a 57 jag E type, and even old 50 model buick that may actually run one day. I wouldnt call myself brand loyal, i just see what i like and go for it.
I've never seen Corvette guys as snobs to be honest. I was just at a meet last night with some very clean C5's and C6's and all of the owners are always cool. Occasionally I'll see some old guy talking about how much they hate imports, but I just ignore them.
I like all cars, but I prefer most 90's import cars like the SC400, Supra, 300zx, 850CSI, RX-7, M3, WRX. and SL500 over most American cars. I love American muscle cars though. A lot of my import car friends look down on the Corvette for some reason though.
I think most of us ignored his comment. Because we aren't snobs!
Sorry for the comment, that did not come off correctly. I was just mentioning that I have seen corvette snobs and noticed some to be C6 owners...not all but some...I have seen C4 and C5 corvette snobs as well. I was riding with a C6 Z06 this weekend and we both had a great time.
I am sorry, and I did not mean to come off as putting down anyone else.
I'm going against the grain here, I bought a Corvette because it's the best sports car period.
I will make fun of you all day for driving anything else (for fun of course, not to start anything). Point in case my neighbor has a 1996 Roush Mustang in pristine condition. I rattled him for it for years, that he should get a Vette. Finally he picked up a 2006 Mag Red about a year ago. The Roush has had a car cover and been untouched for the last year.

No harm no foul. We all get wee weed up over silly things. I was really just attempting to throw some humor at the situation. Maybe I didn't do so good at comedy!
...It is still a wrong-wheel drive car, it still has too few rods and pistons, the interior is still crap and, unless you outspend me by A LOT on mods, my C5 will still embarass you.
Just curious if you have seen the interior in the C5? I think even Hyundai Accents have had better interiors than the Corvette since about 1996.
Designer Imagines A Corvette That Looks More Like a Corvette Than the Corvette
