Today on cold roads with nearly bald tires (RE760) I had quite a bit of wheel hop when trying to accelerate hard in 1st. I've got some new tires ready to go on but I'd like one more try here to see what other suggestions guys have to stop wheel hop. I don't know corvettes that well but any other car I would be sure its worn out shocks / bushings.

Cold, Old, Over inflated tires are some causes of Wheel Hop.

Try reducing the air pressure to 28 psi in the rear and try again.

Interesting thread
This morning pulling away from a light with my ZR1 on a wet road I experienced wheel hop.
Felt like the rear of the car was going to explode
Hopefully didnt break anything back there
Car only had 1000 miles
I had a GS with over 8000 miles and never had anything similar occur
I thoght ZR1s were engineered to prevent wheelhop
Is a blown rear end from wheel hop on an unmodified car covered by warranty?

Yep same here for getting wheel hop when tires are cold. During the summer with 80+ temps, no wheel hop ever. Age is definitely a factor too!

Two kinds... DTE - http://www.performancebydte.com/component-parts.asp and ECS - http://www.eastcoastsupercharging.co...rut_Brace.html

Both similar in design.

Many different factors can cause wheelhop.

Whats the fascination with doing a burnout?
Thats kids stuff.

Did a couple as a teenager
big deal its tire smoke and is hard on parts. Never been impressed

Shocks springs pinion angle etc all cause hop.

On the C5 sure it was setup the way it is by the General for a reason why mess with it just to spin tires?!
