I just bought a Corvette in California, and I'm looking to get it shipped up to New York State. I've been looking around at different companies to get the job done, but I was hoping to get some sound advice from people here that have had experience with shipping.
I would like to ship open to keep the costs down. Like anyone else on this forum, I'm looking to make sure the car is treated as it should be, and I will need it to be picked up on a specific day.

Thank you for the help,

Sounds like a perfectly good excuse for a road trip man. Fly to CA, take a few days and enjoy your Vette

I used a shipping company named Reliable. They were pretty good although the timing was slower than I was told it would be. Intercities is another one that's highly recommended. Good luck
Click on "My Corvette Photos" under my avatar to see photos of the shipper I used and their phone number (I recommend them) between Minnesota and CA.
Tip:
1. Have them put your car on top in front (can't be damaged by possible fluid leaks from cars above if on the lower level)
2. Ask if car will be transferred to another truck along the way (MORE CHANCE FOR DAMAGE). How many times?
3. Shipping exposed is cheaper (but it's also exposed to weather and road grime) than enclosed
Just a couple of questions, Did you buy the car from a dealer, new or used, or a Private Party. If you bought from a dealer do not let them charge you sales tax unless you drove it in the state after signing the papers, but make sure they get a copy of the shipping documents for their records. This will show the car was transferred out of the state before you took possession.
