Today my 22 year old daughter in her 2000 Acura and 68 year old me in my 2002 Z06 went out to the airport for high performance drivers ed. We did slalom, skidpad, emergency braking and accident avoidance, advanced slalom, autocross and modified oval driving. We had a great time and I learned a lot about the capabilities of the Z06. Michelle had a great time also and managed to get her front wheel drive Acura to slide around on the skid pad. We also managed to kill a few traffic cones. A group of our local Corvette owners went out. Our group of 11 cars had 9 Corvettes, 1 Z350 and 1 Acura Integra. If you have not done such a thing as the high performance driving education I would recommend doing so. It is very fun, you get to learn the limits of the car and the driver and it has practical applications for safer driving on the road. My car was clean at the start of the day. At the end it looked like this.

Sounds like a great day...I just picked up a new client that runs a local hi-pro driving school....planning on doing a class with my 20 yr old son this summer...
I just completed day one of our local Auto/SCCA clubs "Performance Driving School" today. What a blast. I've only had the 'Vette for about 8 weeks and was glad to see its limits in a safer environment. (well, as close as I could get to them) Talk about a HUGE leap forward compared to my 190k+ mile V6 Camaro. Keep putting that car to good use.
