I'm pass the fact how it happen, just know when I drove up everything was fine. Before I got into it earlier, that side of the car was fine since I approached it from that direction.
I'm pretty sure everything will come to light one day. I didn't want to pull it apart on my day off since I'll be off this weekend. I'll do it then to hopefully fine no other damage & straighten the wheel out. My concern is that the axle or the upper/lower control arms weren't messed up. I guess in the mix of it all, have a good frame guy check how true it is now.

That is bad damage, but also looks exactly like what a bad curbing, or a bad pothole would do, just seems beyond me that it got hit without one scratch on the body.
jdot, cameras would have been asking too much. Trust me, I looked high & low & ask. The best I can figure, it had to be a car low as the Vette. I'm assuming it had a metal bumper due to there was no paint or pieces left from what I saw.
That's too bad. I hope the offender gets what he deserves down the road. Good luck with new parts.
madmailman96, I wish I could blame a bad curbing or a bad pothole for this one. I would have remember that impact, plus the fact wouldn't have been able to dive away from it. When the flat bed got there, just out of curiosity, we did left it to see if any part of the axle was broke due to being turn in. Everything was firmly attached.
Karma is "b", it'll catch up with whoever. It's just getting to the point of looking at my ride with different rims. I was thinking at re-dipping in chrome awhile back due to a few spots over time showing, but didn't want to do it this soon. Maybe buy some temp rims & get everything done at once if the rim can be repaired.
You can't say I can't find some sun in the mist of the storm! There are a lot of people in that area with the fast & furious intimations who probably got caught up in looking whether then paying attention.
after further tearing down the right rear & not being able to straighten out the wheel, there was other damage. The lower & upper control arms were bent. I thought maybe the impact just turn the wheel on the bolts & was hoping on loosen the bolts would solve the issue.
Wow, that was a pretty hard hit. I would be ocding about that trying to firgure out how that happened. Did you contact your insurance company? They might cover you under comprehensive. Good luck with the repairs.

Someone backing up a car or utility trailer? A sledge hammer wouldn't bend the control arms, even though it looks like someone beat the rim with one. I must admit it looks like a burnout gone wrong, curbcheck!!
