Long story, short version! When into a store at a strip mall & came out to find that someone had hit my rims on the right side of the car. Still haven't figured it out in broad daylight! They it the rear rim to the point it broke the edge of the rim in 2 & push the rim pushed it out of alignment.
Does anybody know or have the Weld Evo Axis SL for sale? The severely damaged rear not drivable size is 18x10.5 & the front badly scuff is 18x9.5. Really don't want to switch to new rims right now, love my Weld Evo due to limited amount on the road.
Sorry to hear that, similar thing happened to me a few years back and wound up finding one on ebay for a good price. Your wheel may be a bit harder to find, especially just one but check it out, you never know. Good luck bro!
I have been looking for spares also, just to have because I like the Evo's so much. Have had no luck on EBay or CList. Trying to understand how someone could hit the wheels w/o getting the body??? Sounds more like curb damage, does anyone else drive it?
I guess the sunny side of the issue, no damage was done to the body of the car. Only the rims got hit, who do you do that & not hit the body in either spot?
Nope, I'm the only driver. The right rear was turn to the inside due to the hit & broke the cross drilled/slotted rotor. Trust me when I say it can't be curb, due to the car will not move now due to the wheel turn to the inside.
Yep, I'll put up some pic/s when I get a chance. Like you, C5FORFUN2, I started the process & then got side tracked. Get them if you can find them. I'll keep you in mind if I find any in stock.

C5FORFUN2, you're on the money with the rims. Your rims are what I have, they are the Weld Evo Axis SL. The Axis 6 version has more spokes. My sizes are front 18x9.5 & the rear is 18x10.5. There was a guy on EbAy a 2x months back who had 4 20x10.5. I didn't want to go with 20" due to I heard it was more difficult transporting the power to the ground with that side. Less rubber on pavement.
I saw the rimstop.com on my search. Only issue with them is they require a membership if I'm not mistaken. Who does that? Then to compound the issue, there's no email or phone number contact listed, & what issue of refund if they don't have the rims? They're very questionable to me.
I doesn't appear there's any suspension damage, other that my wheel turn to the inside & my rotor broke in 2. I'll tear it apart tomorrow on my day off to see what's really up.
jdot, cameras would have been asking too much. Trust me, I looked high & low & ask. The best I can figure, it had to be a car low as the Vette. I'm assuming it had a metal bumper due to there was no paint or pieces left from what I saw.
Hope that you can find the rims.I am really surprised how many vettes on the forum get hit in parking lots!
Man I think Vettes are parking lot magnets when it comes to getting damaged. I never take my vette to the store. ONE time I took it to the grocery store to get my wife some icecream. I parked at the other end of the parking lot. NOTHING around me. I was in for 5 minutes. Came back out. A lone grocery cart was crammed into my back quarter panel. How the hell that could have happened is beyond me. Luckily a wax job later the scuff was fine.
could be way off here but by any chance was it done by one of those curb/street sweepers that the city or property owners use to clean the parking lots?
Ah I see where your going with this. It seems like the damage was bad enough tht he would have noticed it right away whenever it happened.
Not necessarily, I went through a touchless with my mustang before I sold it, and there was a metal bar to make sure you didn't go to far over or what not inside the wash, and it ****ed my rims up and you could not hear a thing because it was being washed, went in a friends house, didn't notice it, walked out late, saw it and flipped out.
Just seems like the likleyness of a low riding car with a non painted metal bumper to hit a corvette, rims only in a wide open parking lot while the owner was only in a store for a few seems 1/1,000,000. But I have seen some wemon pull stuff of like that before. Haha
This sure sounds fishy. How could a wheel or body part hit both of your right side wheels and yet not touch the body? Are you sure the car wasnt curbed or perhaps someone took a sledge hammer to your wheels?
