Default Guess-timate on hp

Bought the car this way, but no specifics on what the HP is. What would you guess the HP to be with these mods and a proper tune?

2000 coupe (manual)

* Vararam Cold Air Intake
* Ported LS6 Throttle Body
* Ported LS6 Air Intake Manifold
* 205cc AFR Heads Decked and Ported
* 120 Degree Thermostat <- maybe a typo, 160? not 100% sure
* Kook Headers
* 230/232 Cam Shaft
* Corsa Off-Road X-pipe
* Corsa Pace Care Muffler

That is all I know about the mods.

A family member just bought a 650hp 2010 camaro... would I get smoked in a race?

you are probably in the area of 475 at the flywheel compared to 600+ for the Camaro .. .YES, you would get smoked.

procharge it, then you will be laughing at the camaro when you have 750+ rwhp.

Doesn't the new Camaro weigh like 5000lbs loaded with a driver and fuel? It'll need that 650hp to keep up?

Edited to add: I just goggled it and it weighs 3780lbs not as big a pig I thought it was. But when it's parked next to mine it looks like a freight truck.

I would say 430-440WHP, The camaro would take ya but probably not by a TON. The car wieghs around 800-1000 more then the C5 Depending on models and options for both.

I agree with Jay.
Your car probably has < than 450 rwhp (~500 flywheel hp).
The camaro would definitely smoke you even with the huge weight disadvantage.
However, it may be a nice race.

Make sure to buy some sticky tires before attempting to validate that theory.

You'll have 435+hp at the wheels and I'm sorry to say that yes, you would be seeing nothing but taillights from that Camaro.

Thanks for all the replies.

I was never a huge fan of the camaro, but his does look and sound bad *** after the upgrades. He's got ~50K in his car, i purchased mine for ~17K. I would hope a 10 year newer car with 650hp would beat me

BTW, this is the package he has:

$50K plus ???? Wow is he gonna feel bent over after you race him and he only beats you by a margin. I'd buy him a beer to make him feel a little better.

He's pushing 650-15% = 550rwhp about a 110 hp more at a much bigger weight of over 500-700lbs.......I dunno...he's gonna maybe beat you, but certainly not by much. Tell him not blink when you guys run, cause he may lose.
