I got a killer deal for a painted targa top! Only problem is that it is not paint matched lol. No worries though, I want to get it painted glossy black like the bottom portion of the rear bumper, any ideas on what I might get quoted guys?

The one I bought is painted... silver. And my car is yellow lol. No worries, just wanted to know if anyone here has had an accurate estimate.

Your looking at around $500 to $600 with paint and prep, at least that's what I was quoted from a couple of different places. You might be able to bring the price down a little if you prep it yourself but best to ask the body shop first to make sure it's worth your time.

P.S.
I'm up north so pricing might be a little higher then most.

cheers

Paid $350 last fall to get mine painted. It was a new top in primer.

Had 3 estimates for mine $450; $500 and $600. 2 were from good autobody shops and the $600 was from a corvette restoration shop.

Some of those estimates seem pretty high considering it should only be the top of the targa that needs painting. Sure you may need to take some of the molding and weatherstripping off, but still. If it costs $400-600 just for a repainting, I guess I'll have to look for an electron blue top instead of another color and having it repainted.

That's what I said when I got my first quote. I got some sob stories of how TR was a hard color to get right. Luckily I found a friend, of a friend who did it for $150 after I did all the prep work. So in the end it all worked out
