fixed headlights why?
Maybe some of the old-schoolers here remember it; I recall it being on an orange and white vette...
I was just saying that about yours for laughs. My vert in the avatar actually has the depo lights on it now. Do they look better? Hell no. Do they have better light? Hell yeah.
When the lights are open it's night time anyway and you aren't 'showcasing' the beauty of the car so much.
When they are UP they are not particularly attractive.................I just prefer retractable designs to other automotive "faces".

Just makes the car look sleek. But I couldn't justify converting mine back from fixed back to pop-up. But the first thing I did is the HID conversion because the light output sucked from these Breathless Performance lights.Obviously it is a personal preference so there is no right answer. I do have to admit that I really love being able to use the auto headlights, which I would probably not be using if I still had the pop-ups. That is probably the best advantage to me

I didn't want to simply blast HID lighting using the OEM non projector lenses so I weighed the pros and cons of each system.
In the end, I realized that over 75% of my C5 driving is during the day. I also think the pop up lights are part of the C5 personality and although I understand the aerodynamic reasons employed originally by the C5R racing team, I chose to stay with pop ups. I've seen some nice exposed systems and I've seen some that are pretty ugly and IMO destroy the lines of the C5 and look out of place.
This is the first I've heard that ACA or other aftermarket kits are heavier than the OEM housings as I did not notice the additional weight upon installation of my ACAs. It doesn't matter, because we all know that the OEM nylon gears will fail as it's not a question of if, rather when, so I have the brass gear replacement on hand ready to go.
Plus, when they are closed, there is nothing more stealth.
I love my ACAs and I would only consider swapping them for JWM's Sun Guns (above) once they are ready for market.

we do it for the "Race" look.. the C5R has them so i want them too.. To the guy that called him out for being an 80s baby, I am (1985) and totally understand what hes saying.. it seems like when they switched the 4th gen camaro from 97 to 98 with the nose swap i always figured thats what the tigershark and none flip ups should have been.. then then basically ripped off the Tigershark and made it sharper to make the C6..
some of us want what the dealer kicks out and some of us have the glimmer of what OUR cars should be.. and people say Frog eye like its a bad thing.. look up Sinister i believe his name is, that car is BAD @$$..
side note: Does anybody make a Depo style frog eye with Halos?

With that said...the lights make it look a lot like a Mitsubishi 3000 GT from the front. To me it just takes away from the natural beauty of a C5.

I am actually asking incase I need them when my motors go out.

Thanks in advance

The lighting is not even comparable to the stock lighting output. Plus a little weight savings doesn't hurt.
