Anyone know what the stock hood weighs? Just don't see why 45 #s is a big deal, especially when it doesn't seem to be problematical to those who have it!
Great personal comments from an owner---Thanks!
Great idea on the front grill--I've seen them on fleabay occassionally.
Did you run it at all with front AND rear opened before you closed off the back? I would think that alone would have extracted heat as I believe the base of the windshield would tend to be a low pressure area when you're moving..............
They say 45# shipping weight, so I suppose the hood's closer to 43#. Like the guy above said, who cares if you're not racing it!
Never ran it with the front open. the back yes but did not like the look of the opening looking me in the face.
You will not be disappointed with the hhod.
I like the looks of the longer stinger but the other one functions for heat removak if you want it to
Can you tell us how they mod it to act as an extractor? I'm really wondering if the "Big Stinger" couldn't be modded the same way. I'd sure be willing to test an approach that works on "Baby Stinger"!

I can't give you details since I specifically ordered mine to be built with the extractor sealed. I bought it for show only and didn't want to take the chance of any extra water spots on my engine dressing. You could call Vanacor and talk to them and I'm sure they might help. Basically it would appear that you get air forced in the scoop and it vents out the openings in the back of the scoop. The scoop is just an add on to an otherwise factory hood design. Then with vent holes cut in the lower factory hood design you would get a venturi effect that would extract the hot air from the engine compartment?
I have the Stinger hood from Fiberconcepts. Can't do business with a better guy. Rob is the man.
I had the hood opened in the front to install the stock 67 grill work. You will be extremely satisfied with the fit and finish. My body guy had it installed with in 30 mintes.
BUY IT!!!Fred
I recently purchased the Stinger hood from FC. I will agree with everyone regarding what a good guy Rob is...However, the hood I received as to fit/finish SUCKED OUT LOUD !! The center high rise has wicked dips in it on both sides, the edges of the hood (both sides) and the leading edge don't have enough material to adjust gap to the fenders and bumper. The front also has a dip right in the center at the point and is way low. It will not line up to the bumper or the headlights. My body shop broke their nuggets trying to make this hood right but some things just cant be fixed. Rob and I spoke at length about his molds and he even agreed with some prodding that he needs a new mold/plug, but he feels the expense is counterproductive. His are shot. Anybody wants one, I'll sell you mine. Again I will say Rob was a gentleman and even took a few $$ of the price, but if I new it was going to fit so poorly, I would not have bought it. I can send pix to anyone interested. Mark@M3
