Get in the car and gently but firmly pump the pedal. the end of the hose is submerged so no air can get back in when the pedal comes back up.

It's so simple I have a hard time believing the weird contraptions other people come up with to do it.
X2 - this is the way I've always done it.

Sometimes the things you think will go smoothly just end up being a PITA. Glad you finally got it all finished.

Yesterday I went to an old school True Value hardware and quickly located the needed 3/8" PT nuts in brass for all three custom caps. Of course about the time I finished all three caps I realized that I could "make" my own 3/8" PT nuts by sawing off the female end of a quick disconnect. Tried it using my hand grinder and it was a quick and cheap solution as the quick disconnects are only 59 cents at Harbour Freight vs about $3.00 per for the brass nuts.

Even though I finished the brake bleed, making these caps got me thinking and I decided to build my own pressure bleeder as well. With a bit of looking around I settled on a small Flo-Master 64oz hand pump sprayer that cost me under $6 at Wally World. I removed the spray nozzle and clamped on some 3/8" poly tubing that ends in a female quick disconnect. Added a 0-60 psi gauge that I already had and now I have my own pressure bleeder at a cost of about $10.

Whatever works for you.
I like the pressure system because I like to flush as much of the old fluid out and replace it with fresh fluid.
