Default My RSD shifter review

Install took about an hour if that. Thats tear down and reassemble.

It is MUCH better than stock, but I dont have any other aftermarket shifters to compare it to. I do wish it was alil shorter of a throw but Im very happy with it over stock.

I would suggest the shifter to anyone looking to get rid of that POS stock shifter

I was able to try most aftermarket short throw shifters that had been installed in other vettes and although the throw was short and positive I felt the effort was to high for my liking. The RSD snap shifter is a little shorter than the stock shifter, also the throw is a little shorter, and the effort is low but not sloppy. I guess I'm trying to say I like it! Also an easy install.

You may want to think about that. The black ***** get HOT in the sun - white is much cooler.

Did you keep the stock boot? If so, how does it look? Do you have a picture? Thanks!

Direct sun can get the thing hot (although not nearly as hot as a chrome one) but most of the time shift ***** are not under direct sun for extended periods. I cover my car + the tinted targa blocks out the really harsh rays.

What's the effort like going from 4th to 5th or into reverse? I had a recent injury to my right shoulder. Nothing too major but it is uncomfortable to make these shifts with my Hurst shifter. The tension never bothered me before but now it's uncomfortable to drive my car. I'd rather not put my stock shifter back in.

I didnt get mine from RSD but I did take a C6Z06 shifter cut it down and thread it and then put a delrin round **** with the thing. Not sure what RSD does differently but I love the setup. Smooth and comfortable. Just how I like it.

Glad you got it in! Good job!

I bought a Hurst for my friend as a gift and he loves it over the stock and many love the RSD too, great shifters!

Thanks,Matt (Talk with you soon)

i thought the throw was longer also. I had another aftermarket shifter before this one, i think it had a shorter throw than the RSD,but it is smotthe.

Overall its much smoother going into every gear IMO
It seems like to get it into R you have to push it over to the right alil more than you do the stock shifter but thats a good thing to me.

Got my shorty headers and will probably start that install next week
