I recently spent the weekend clay barring my 01 black vette it turned out great, afterwards I came across Turtle wax's Black Box specifically designed for black vehicles the cost was around $22 the results were priceless! Its a 4 step process but in my opinion well worth the effort. I posted a couple pics on my profile check em out.
if you havent clay bared it yet I would strongly recommend it, sure slicks the paint, and the black box product really bringsout the depth, take your time its well worth the effort!
this is nothing new...being a detailer claying is a common thing....and its the clay process that gave that shine..not really the turtle wax...the shine outcome is all determined on the paint prep...then once u have it , laying ANY wax , polish and then SEAL (which u should do now) will create same effect
well i beg to differ i know the clay has alot to do with the results i got,...however after i clayed i used a premium carnuba wax on the aft section, while i was in the middle of that process i ended up in my local parts house and saw the black box i thought what the heck i'll try it, came home and did the hood,i and my neighbor noticed a marked difference between the 2 the hood had a deeper shine and yes afterwards i did apply a seal dont knock it till you try it, i'm waiting to hear from another member who is doing his vette this weekend.
that the thing its a black wax the first step is a pre-wax cleaner its a liquid goes on like wax then you use the spray detailer and then you apply step 2 which is a BLACK carnuba wax blend its not as viscus as your normal liquid wax, its more fluid then use the detailer again and btw its an 01 and the original paint
