Just thought I'd chime in here and give a review for these tires. I have Z06 rims on my coupe, and got these tires in those sizes from Discount Tire for about $1100 out the door, including their "certificate" for free replacement over the life of the tire and such. They had to special order the fronts because they didn't show up in their database, but I gave them about 3 weeks notice that I was going to buy and they had them ready in only 5 days. T'was nice.
Anyways, the difference between these and my Toyo Proxes, vintage March 2006, is astounding. The first thing my wife and I noticed was that they were very quiet in comparison. I imagine any new tire will be quieter than a near-bald, 5-year-old tire but it was very pronounced.
The second thing that I noted was the incredible wet traction I had. We bought the tires in Oregon and drove back to Seattle the next day, and it was raining pretty much the whole time. Despite the rain, the car felt absolutely planted, even going through some twisties, and I was able to hook up in 2nd gear which I could never do with the Toyos in the rain. We drove through some pretty deep standing water on I-5 at about 75-80 MPH and there wasn't a hint of hydroplaning; hell, I could hardly tell there was water out there. I can't wait till these break in a bit to see how they perform when at their best.
So, so far I'm quite happy and would recommend them.
EDIT: Do keep in mind I've only put on about 300 miles so far. If anything changes or I have anything to add here in the near future I'll be sure to update the thread.
I have them on my DD. Do they vibrate a little when cold for you too?
The flat spot could be caused by your air pressure. If you air pressure is too low, you could be causing the tires to run a little hot. Then once you park the car, the softer rubber flattens out from the weight of the car.
On my DD with Kuhmo tires, a change of 2-3 psi will affect whether I have a slight flat spot in the mornings or if the tire stays nice and round. I also had this problem with the Sumitomo tires.
Check the air pressure on your tires. My guess is if you're not tracking the car your air pressure may be a little low.
If they are anything like the DWS version, then you should really enjoy those tires.
The Conti's have been great on my car. Like you said, the wet traction is terrific. And the dry traction is also very well. These aren't a bad compromise of all-season performance. (again, I have the DWS, but imagine they are very similar)

I just put a set on mine a few weeks ago after spending a lot of time deciding which tires to go with.
I feel these were a great decision. Quiet ride, great wet and dry traction plus they are nicely priced. Didn't expect to get a set of 4 for $1000 taxes in.

The DW are the "extreme performance summer" tire instead of the all-season tire. I am of the opinion that all-season tires are a compromise, and a compromise means giving something up. So, I went with their summer tire and will likely get some Blizzaks for winter use on my spare wheels.

The DW's are all season, the DW stands for dry/wet the DWS stands for dry /wet/snow..I have the DWS as mine is a DD and I drive to Flagstaff several times a year rain or snow. Had them for 9 months now and will buy them next time also..

The DW's are not all-season, they are a summer tire only. Dry/wet only, not to be used below 32 degrees, hence the summer only.
