If I have the top off ( 2001 cpe ) and need to park for even a few minutes, I'm on edge.
I see that there are interior alarms but they activate due to air motion, which will occur if it's windy.
Any suggestions?
They are called "Field Disturbance Monitors".... Most alarm systems offer one as an upgrade module. You can set the sensitivity. Basically a proximity sensor. Have one in mine and senses the moment something enters the interior "bubble"...
It is hard to get them to be perfect. Sometimes they go off if someone walks by the car and other times you can reach in the car and it won't go off...it's kinda like a women, very moody.

don't have one on my 04 C5 convertible, (not a daily driver and not used to run errands), but i certainly had one of the modules added to the after market alarm system i put on my C4 (93 convertible daily driver back then) as soon as i drove it out of the dealership, new in 93. worked really well and wasn't ever set off by the wind
