When you hit the lock button on the door of your vette upon exiting, it does not send any security code, but if you walk away & use the door lock on your key chain, it sends a code through the airwaves where it can be instantly stolen. Scammers are using devices now to clone your security code and can empty your car in the short time you see a man abt a horse.
I thought the Corvette had a rolling code? Always changed?
It does, and the remote used by the thief would have to have the same rolling code and in the same portion of that rolling code. Very low odds that it could sync up with the cars sequence. And he would have to be within a few feet of your remote at the exact instant you pushed the button with his program ready to steal your code. He would then get the current code, not the next one that the car is looking for. I, like a previous poster, am not going to worry about this one. I also don't leave anything in the car when I'm out.

Locks only keep the honest people out. If someone wants in they will get there.
I'm not going to worry about this one.
i quit locking my cars about 2 years ago when a thief busted out the small back corner window of my wife's malibu. if someone wants in, theyll get in. if i make it easy then they wont smash my window and cost me money. theres nothing in the car for anyone to take but that small back window sure does cost a lot.
