My friend and I were just at a local dealership looking at two 2002 ZO6's. They wanted $30k for one that had 15k mi. and would only take off $500. Oh yeah, the tires were in need of replacing also. I know last year when I was thinking of buying a 03 or 04 ZO6 I was getting prices of around $30k for those years with new tires on them. What is the going price for a ZO6 in very good condition with about 15k mi? Retail and and private deal also. Thanks guys. P.S. He offered $25k and they said they paid more than that at auction - I find that hard to believe!
I would be shocked if they paid 25K at an auction. But it seems to me folks were asking 20 to 25 for them this past winter, depending on the year and miles of course.
The Autotrader prices for 2001 - 2003 Z06's within a 100 mile radius of Phila are as high as $35k for a 20k mile 2003 Z06, private seller. How do you even start talking to this seller?
Then there's the 2003 Z06 with 74k miles for $22k.
Yet Edmunds TMV comes nowhere near the higher prices I've seen. The allvette dealer in Phila area has high prices - IMHO - yet they seem to turn their C5 inventory over fairly rapidly - although I haven't seen them list a Z06 since I've been looking.
I picked my '03 Z up in December. 56k on the clock, some nice mods & in great shape for $16.5k. It's still a buyer's market. The stealerships were definitely way overpriced. Checked one out that was in nice shape, a '02 that they wanted $25k for. Walked away and bought this one. They were calling me and offering to lower the price for a month afterwards.
The KBB has an ‘01 Z with 15K miles listed at $28,650. In the Auto Trader I found an '02 with 21K at $26,500 and a few in the 70K mile range between $19,500 and $12,900.
On a side note I also found a very rare 2001 Collector’s Edition must be 1 of 1
A 15k mile 02Z..... I would pay between $25-28k But, I see the value in an almost brand new car that cost $50k when new. I dont care how old it is or what a guide book "says" I should pay.
Thanks, guys. That's about what I thought also. I told my friend to take the $30k and head to Kerbeck's in A.C. and see about picking up a 1LT 2011 coupe for $8 or $9k more. Then he would have a new vette with a warranty, all new parts with more hp.
pray tell what a 2001 collectors edition is exactly?
My point exactly, that is way I stated 1 of 1.

I also assume that the owner was claining it to be a Collectors Edition, because it appeared to be painted in the Anniversary Red. It was not an '03, because there was a picture of the nose and the C5 logo was the standard logo.
i paid 26k for my 02 z06 last august with 13457 miles. id say wait a month and when they still have the car offer them 25 and maybe theyll play ball., no way a dealer would pay what they said they paid for that car. if they did theyd probably be asking 35. to me that car should be max 26
