i heard before when you hold down the Traction Control button for 8-10 seconds, something gets disabled. i finally did that and the screen said, COMPETITIVE DRIVING!!!! What the hell does that mean?
It's the your GF is about to start punching you because she knows you only hold down that button when you are getting ready to own some rice on the highway button.

Something is wrong with your car if you have to turn of TCS to own rice on the highway. LOL
Keep TC/AH on and keep your car out of the body shop - IMHO. Most people can't drive the car better with them off than with them on and they protect you from your own right foot. Now, if you're out at an HPDE or doing car control exercises in an area with NO WALLS to hit, have at it...

Right now I don't have ANY of the options. LOL My EBCM is dead, so I don't have ABS, TCS or AH and I can tell you that I'm a little more careful with the car. I have, however, gotten into an open area with nothing to hit and played with the car just to see, and it's easier to break loose than I expected. I used that experience to get to know the car a little better while I don't have the option of any of the goodies.
While I'm not worried about my driving skills, I'm worried about not having ABS right now. That's the only thing that makes me nervous at the moment about driving my car. Otherwise, it's not too bad, but there may be a moment when I regret not getting the EBCM taken care of sooner.

Maybe you should have bought an Accord if you need traction control to protect you from your own right foot.
My car makes 700 whp, if I even think about giving it gas traction control comes on.

I wouldn't say that... The TCS was designed for the stock power of the car. You're in a different situation all together. Running without TCS isn't as big a deal as running without AH. The AH is rather important if you haven't had the car long enough to learn it well. Many people don't ever learn the car because they never turn off AH in an area they can mess with it.
I'd say if you need TCS and AH, there's nothing wrong with it. With the amount of power these cars make, it's not really that big of a deal.

I love internet tough-guys, it's funny that you feel the need to be condescending here.
I'm not suggesting that I "need traction control to protect me from my own right foot". I've driven plenty of touchy high torque cars (ACR Viper, Porsche 911 GT3, Ferrari F40, Corvette ZR1) at/near the limit on road courses with TC/AH off and I have no trouble playing around with power-oversteer.
I'm simply suggesting that for most people in normal driving there's no good reason to turn it off. Mine dyno'd at 396 ft.lbs. and I very rarely see the TC light come on unless I'm at WOT from a dead stop or in the middle of a 1-2 shift (which I typically don't do on the street). I see it as a bit of insurance when driving on crappy California pavement.
Most of us don't have 700whp cars - I agree that you'd have a hard time with TC with that motor. In your case I would have it disabled as well.
