My mother made me some "seat armor" for the passenger seat for christmas, intent being to put on when my dog is going to ride in the car. Works great.
Made out of two large black towels, joined where the seat back meets the seat bottom. The top is sewn into a pocket shape that slides over the headrest area to install, then there is a flap on the underside of the center that you tuck in between the seatback/bottom to hold that area in place, and the bottom edges are fitted to wrap around the bottom front edge of the seat cushion to hold the bottom in place. Doesn't budge and keeps dog hair and dirty footprints off the seat, plus I'm sure it keeps the claws from scratching up the seat too.
It could use some additional fitting to make it look 100%, but functionally it works great and does a great job protecting the seat. Use it all the time with the dog now.
just curious how many of you Guys use some sort of cover over your leather seats to protect them?
I have two of the seat Armour covers for my leather seats. Why not protect the seat from the sun pounding in on them or someone with a little dirt or grease and they get in. Once they get out your now stuck with a grease stain which is almost impossible to clean. I had my corvette at the local Chevy dealership, they had the car for three days and when I got it back with grease stains on the carpet and some on the drives seat. I complained to the service manager, He says "Bring it back, well see what we can do."
Lots of luck with that dealership. I wrote a letter to Chevrolet about the ***(*&^ Chevy dealership. They used to have about 100 cars on their huge lot as stock. Now. . They have an empty lot and about twenty five used cars and fifteen new models. The only dealerships GM kept is the ones who could show they were interested in 1. Cars 2. Customer service 3. making the customer feel like they are welcome for buying from them. Only the strong survive.
