Birds must eat fine rock or gravel in order for them to grind/digest their food. The gravel then goes out with the poo. So, most any poo you see may have some of this very fine gravel in it. That's why I thoroughly soak any dried or drying poo that gets on my car or boat before carefully removing it. It is actually safer if you remove it with the water pressure from a hose and don't touch it with a rag at all.
