I am 6'3" 210. My 94 C4 seemed to have more room. I traded that in on a 04 C5 and did not notice how cramped I was until I took a trip that lasted more than 1 hour. I checked out a 2005 C6 and it seemed to have more head room and leg room. The seat supported the back of my head better. In the future I would like to drive a C6 for an hour or more to see how comfortable it is.
No offense, but no way you had more room in your C4 than a C5.
As mentioned, I'm 6'5" 210 and my knees hit the dash on the C4.
There is a trick to the C5 that some may not know, which is you can adjust the seat DOWN about 1 inch or more.
6'2, and a "skinny" 290. (40" waist, comfortable in 2X shirts) I am all trunk and have a 33" inseam. I fit comfortably with the seat all the way down and most of the way back. Plenty of head room and decent leg/hip room. Good for long drives with no stopping. OEM power sport seats in my 02 Coupe. Worst is getting into or out of the car and trying to be gentle on the leather if I cant open the door fully. I have the tilt/telescope wheel and have it telescoped about half way out. Easy entry is a great feature.
Apparently the lady I bought the car from had midget settings on Preset 2, because I got in once and bumped Preset 2 and thought I was going to get crushed.
I dont need a seat belt extender, but it took a few days to get the butt slide to the side then buckle sorted out. Not a belt length issue, but a room between the belt and console issue.
Edit: The hardest part about getting in and out of the car is getting my feet in the right place. I have to wear steeltoes at work and its a trick to maneuver them in the footwell. With regular sneakers like my Nikes or DCs, I am golden.

About a year and half ago I do recall driving my C4 a few times for 2 to 3 hours and not getting a leg cramp or back ache. With my C5 I get leg cramps and back aches with trips under an hour. If I would known the C6 was not so cramped like my C5 I may have spent the extra money. C4 owners have often said the C4 seats are more comfortable than the C5 seats.

Perhaps that could be causing it for you. Or maybe you are just getting old.
