Default Will I fit??

I am a new forum member and I am looking at a 96' C5. My concern is, I am 6'5" 260lbs and worried that I will not fit comfortably. This is my
2nd vette. My first was a 73' with lots of leg and head room.Is there more room with an automatic, as opposed to a manual. Are there any other Big Guys out there with input?

I'm 6'7" and 290 and my C5 is fine to drive. I'd recommend against the 96 tho........ the C4 is a tighter fit!

6'5" 280lbs.

When I owned a 95 convertible C4, difficult to get in and out of but not bad. I preferred to drive with the top down although not bad with the top up.

My 02 C5 has plenty of room, I move my seat up a little to drive comfortably. Headroom is fine but a little cramped with a helmet on...

6'5" here too.....probably 170/180 and I fit in my '02 Coupe just fine. You'll be fine in a C5.

The tranny is now in the back so there is a lot more leg room.

Yup , no guarantees and you wont know until you go find one and sit in it, but the C5 has the most room so far (not sure but may be more than C6) but if you felt ok in a C2, you're gonna feel "more ok" in a C5

Found this also

""The C5 was roomier but not bigger like it feels. The C5 had a total passenger volume 51.4 cubic feet and the C6 has a total passenger volume of 52.1 cubic feet. The C5 has a half inch more hip room (54.2" vs. 53.7") and only 1/10 of an inch more shoulder room (55.3" vs. 55.2"). The difference is in the way the dimensions are distributed in the interior of the C6. Further, the C6 center console area is a little larger making the interior seem smaller. The seats in the C6 are also a little larger, again making the C6 feel smaller.

In contrast, the C6 has 3/10 of an inch more leg room at 43" vs. 42.7" vs. the C5.""

Small correction. C-4's ran from 1984 thru 1996.....1997 thru 2004 are C-5's.....and yes, you probably will be uncomfortable.

I am 6' 5" 240 and it is a bit tight but compared to the Porsche I was in before it is great! The seats are poorly designed and the older they are the flatter they get. I have to have the driver's seat rebuilt soon as my butt is on the frame of the seat now. The quality of the materials are not up to what you might imagine for a "sports" car. The head room is good with the top down!

I'm 6'-5" 225lbs. I've owned C3, C4 & C5 vettes. My '71 was a tough fit, but only drove it on nice days so I could have the top off...

My '96 C4 was a great fit... Once I got in the car, man that sill was crazy. I also tended to bump my noggin on the halo durring sudden expedited launches. Added a little roll bar foam to keep from cracking it open if I got rear ended (which I ultimately did).

My '03 Z is a great fit. Easy entry makes the egress and regress a piece of cake. I do have the seat in the farthest back and reclined though, up against the rear wall. But the driving position is excellent and no back fatigue.

I don't know if some of you "giants" are exagerating your heights or your comfort assessments.

But I am around 6'4" and 205 and I have to slouch otherwise my head hits the roof, the seat is all the way back and reclined against the back also.

I don't think I would fit if i was any taller/fatter and feel comfortable.

You will have to slouch, seat slightly forward, leaned back. Manual seats are your friend here.

No exaggeration here. Played BB (Center in HS, Power Forward in College), Football (T.E. and D.T. ) in High School.

Inseam is 36, arms 36.5., size 15 shoe (that's the tightest part of the ride)
My head has at least .75" clearance with the seat positioned as I said. Nice bend at the knees and elbow.

I'm 6'3'' and 250. I have an 03 with sport seats and have to get my seat position just right. I still am too high but plenty of legroom and comfort in the seat. I do have to make a concession because of the height issue but its worth it to me.

I owned a '96 Collectors Edition & now have a '99 FRC. I agree with other posts that the C-5's ('97-'04) will be a much better fit for you! It's a buyer's market for C-5's so I don't believe too many $$$ between a C-4 to a C-5...Good luck!
