I need new tires but am shying away from the Hankooks because of their sidewall softness. I like a crisp steering response and good handling at the limits. From everything that I have read these are to soft for me.
I once had a sports car that I put soft tires on and it spoiled the whole driving experience. I don't want to do that again.
Ok, ordered, stock 600 out the door with Discount Tire Direct, no tax or shipping, and a 60 dollar rebate from Hankook! $540 net. Thanks to an earlier post about Discount Tire, the rebate popped up! Has to be an authorized dealer. I didn't see it advertised at Tire Rack, but might have missed it. Just see this one dissenting post from Vetter. Yes, I hope I'm not compromising the driving experience but on original runflats, it has got to be better than I am going to remember, but maybe not as good and being a thousand or more poorer.

Now have 300+ miles on the Hankooks so far and put in 28lbs. cold and it gets to 31 hot which is perfect...with the z51 sway bars it handles really nice around the curves...feels much better than the original runcraps and after I get the c6z06 shocks on it will be even better

agree with everyone here on the comments...mine are ultra quiet, but I will add this. These tires require that you warm them up. My Discount Tire tech warned me about this, and I was skeptical, but he was spot on. They will run harsh when cold, but once you get them up in temp they are fantastic and you will feel the difference. I wanted to get rid of as much road noise as possible and they came through for me. My car is so quiet now it sounds like a 4 door sedan!

If you are talking about the Hankooks, I haven't run across that so far...
Giving an update. Discount tire was the cheapest...thanks for the suggestion!! Shipped them to a local guy who installed. Yes, they feel softer, way quieter, do not seem to corner quite as sharp, but they still are pretty new and for the price/value I'm good.

I have noticed the same thing. I assume that because of the thicker sidewall on the run flats you have sharper cornering? I could be way off on this though. I drive my vette pretty easy all the time so it's really not that big of a deal for me.

Wow, $540 is a good deal . Best i could do is $677 .
I'm a C5 stock tire...you go bigger? I wouldn't think the price went up so much so fast. You use Discount Tire Direct?
Mine is factory stock . I just went to the website at Discount tire direct and enter the year ,, make and model . I subtracted the certificates and valve stem rebuilds . It was just 2-front and 2-rear tires , shipping and tax .
A put a set of Hankook V12 EVO's all the way around. I have,
305/30/ZR19 rear
265/35/ZR18 front
They replaced Continent ContiSportContact 3's. I was very pleased with the Continentals and was prepared to re-purchase the same tires when I took a look at the Hankooks and ended up going with them... In my opinion, they are by far the best priced performance tire on the market for the money. Granted, I don't track my car, but in street driving (and an occasional WOT on the freeway onramp), I think these tires perform equally as well for a lot less money.
One comment: I noticed that the profile of the tire is somewhat different. Even though the size I purchased is the same size as my previous tire, they definitely look different on the car. The Continental's bulged out more... I think they looked a little better. I have been meaning to write a thread about this.
