Default problem adjusting windows

Problem
-Large gap in upper rear corner of driver side window, causing leaks and air noise at higher speeds
-Window also has a lot of give as well

Solutions tried
Tried to adjust the tilt of the window with no luck, followed the procedures listed bellow. I believe the problem may be with the jack screw jam nut (step 5). The jam nut will loosen and I am able to adjust the jack screw counter clockwise (after a few times did it to the point where it would not turn anymore) however when I try to tighten the jam nut, it will not tighten and the window still has the gap. I am able to tighten the window regulator front channel mounting nut with no problem (step 9). Is the jack screw jam nut suppose to be a little loose? Could this be the reason why the window is not tilting?

Tomorrow I will adjust my rear roof latch (no longer holds tension) and found some helpful instructions to do so http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...d.php?t=105599

Window Tip In Adjustment – Door
Tools Required: #6 Inverted TORX Socket

1. Position the window fully up.
2. Remove the large access plug from under the front of the door.
3. Loosen the window regulator front channel mounting nut.
4. Remove the reflector from the trim panel
5. Loosen the jack screw jam nut.
6. Adjust tip in with the jack screw.
o Turn the jack screw clockwise to tip the window outward.
o Turn the jack screw counter-clockwise to tip the window inward.
o One turn of the screw equals approximately 1 N•m (0.04 in) change at the top of the window.
7. Tighten the jack screw jam nut.
8. Lower the window.
9. Tighten the window regulator channel front mounting nut.
10. Raise the window and check the alignment.
11. Install the access plug under the front of the door.
12. Install the reflector in the door trim panel.

I've adjusted my windows before but it's been quite some time. Can you post a pic of the Gap? It would help visualize what you have going on. Also, does the weatherstrip still feel pliable or is it drying out?

Tried snapping some photos but could not get the gap in the picture, its the upper rear corner of the driver side window. Weatherstrip is in great condition, replaced it about a year ago. When you adjusted the window did the jam nut tighten back up? Thanks for your help

Yes, the nut did tighten back up. Which adjuster are you working on? Is the window going UP high enough?

Has the window ever been out? The reason I ask is that the window can move up, down, forward and back in the holders on the track. You may want to try loosening the brackets inside the door and adjusting the window that way. Just be sure to mark the window position on the bracket with a sharpie in case it doesn't work out can put it back exactly where it was.

Yes, this is what I was getting at. You may need to move the entire piece of glass around and start with a more neutral position. Then make the fine adjustments from there.

Thanks for the help, window has never been out (atleast from my knowledge). The adjuster i am working on can be accessed by removing the reflector from the door and i am working with the window fully up. I started to experiment alittle today with moving the glass around, actually made the window worse but I am slowly learning how to fix this problem (i hope). By the end i hope to be able to to make a write up with the solution(s).

Sorry, not real clear on where you are at with this, did this several years ago, but know I had to add several washers to adjusting screw behind reflector to get tight. Good luck.

Well after some tinkering around I was able to finally able to figure out how to adjust the windows. The video that Z06ufgrad2002 posted helped out big time. In the end i tilt the window closer and also raised the window just alittle so that window fits flush against the molding. The leak is probably 99% better, still has a slight leak when water is held in a certain spot for a prolonged time but after washing the car there was no water in the car at all (unlike before). Thanks for all the help
