Default Help! Which one to buy?

Ok- it's been almost 20 years since I have owned a corvette, and now I have the money and time to buy another one. I didn't think would be a problem, but living in the motor city, lots of great cars to look at. I have narrowed my choice down to 2 based on budget and distance to travel. I have owned 3 other corvettes, but it's been a long, long time. I thought posting it on this site would give me plenty of educated information.

The first car is a 2004 convertible, with blk interior, blk top. 2 owners, 22,000 miles, clean car fax, non smoker, garage kept, never seen ice, rain or sleet. This car is so clean you can eat off the mats. The owner has fallen on hard times and most sell. He is asking $29,000,but will take $27,500. It also has a extended warranty till 2013.
The next one is a torch red 2003, automatic, blk top with interior blk. Original owner 16,000. Miles, clean car fax, just as clean as the first. He is asking $27,500. It is the 50 th anniversity with every option for that year. I never thought that I would find 2 terrific cars in my area that are so clean and well taken care of. So, please help what do you think?
Any and all info would be appreciated....I promise to keep you posted which one I buy.

Well, since you are new to Corvettes, I'll be easy on ya. This is the Z06 section of Corvette Forum, and all of us wouldn't recommend one regular 'Vette over a Z.

I got my two owner 2002 Black Z06 with 13.5K on the ODO for $23,000 . . . so I'd say keep looking.

Out of the two, I would get the 2003. However, both prices are high. I would agree with the keep looking comment. If it was 23k, you would be in the ball park. Good luck with your search. Let us know how it turns out.

If the 2003 is torch red, then it isn't the Anniversary edition and should be about $1000.00 less. Just a heads up.

IMHO the prices are way off. Last fall I found a 2003 blue ZO6 with 8k miles on it and the guy was going to sell it for 23k. I bought a 2002 Torch Red ZO6 with 18k miles on it with the following mods for 25k.
- CAI
- CAM/Springs
- Lowered
- HID headlights
- Nitrous
- Clutch
- Exhaust
- Fancy DVD/Radio

If you are paying 27.5k for a standard C5, even if it is a vert, I think the price is too high.
If you do not know what the difference is between the ZO6 and standard vette, I would recommend you drive both. My parents owned a black 03 C5 vert with an auto trans. Since I am going to track my car and my perspective may be different than yours. You may want a standard C5 but I wouldn't touch that car. You could probably find a C6 standard vette for 30k no problem at all.
Again... This is my opinion...
