I have the old front bumper of the car (someguy backed into me couple years ago and the dealership let us keep the damaged bumper), and its been used as a decorative item above my "bar" in my apt. It needs something new so i've decided i'm gonna try my skills with plasti-dip tomorrow.
Alright, here are the pics. I'm gonna redo it though because I didn't remove the tape quick enough and as you can see, the plasti-dip peeled funny. But now I know what to do for next time. Oh, and you can easily see where the guy backed into me, and sorry for the "eh" quality of the pics.
Haha yea I was trying out those areas. I saw it in another forum about quick and easy mods, thought I'd give it a shot. I think Quik01 had it done to his yellow coupe. I peeled it all off cause the first attempt went awful, tried again but something is missing, like the rest of the car haha
full marks for effort. the best part is you can keep trying until you get it right, then do it on your car. Keep at it, you'll get the look you want. you may want to get som fine pin stripe tape (I think that's what its called) to round out your edges better around the air intakes.
good job on the diy

Thanks, that would help out quite a bit. Trying to round it all out was probably the toughest part. I've redone it several times already and it's getting better.
Go to your local automotive paint supplier and ask for fine line tape. There are different widths. The narrow it is the sharper you can make smooth bends.
