Get the flush mount ones. They look so much better than the letters that stick out from the bumper.

^ Simple solution to this: Just as you have to slightly bend the "V" to get it to fit the contour of the front filler plate, you can simply bend in the tail on the "R" a little bit for the rear and it will sit perfectly flush. I originally installed the rear "R" without doing this and noticed the exact same thing. I had to be very careful with a wash mitt or chamois getting hung up on it. Needless to say, the adhesive on my "R" never quite stuck, so when I reinstalled it, I bent in the tail a little bit and it now sits perfectly flush.
