Just back from the Stealership had a Ebcm installed cost for the ECBM was $788.00 and another 212.00 for labor! also had a stuck window fixed $298.00 for a regulator and another $178.00 for labor! do these prices sound right?
Considering most dealerships labor rates are over $100 hr, labor costs are pretty much in line. However I just had my EBCM rebuilt for $150 + shipping, took off and installed myself (make sure you have plenty of patience). Had problems with power to the doors, window, etc, was 2 fretted wires in drivers door control panel ... fixed for under $100. I use this forum for all my repair problems, research as much as possible, so far any problem I have had ... somebody else had prior.
There is a wealth of knowledge here .... me personally .. I Thank all you folks

If it takes a dealer more than 30 minutes to R&R a front mounted EBCM their doing it with only 1 arm.
Guy in Winona MN fixed my ECBM, he's in the auction site. $50! Getting it out was tough, but since I got that part back only code I throw now is 1287 for steering wheel position sensor. It's shown for a long time, just gotta get up the nerve to take it all apart to fix!!! But fixing the ECBM cleared a bunch of codes!!!
The swps isn't that hard to replace. My car has the telescoping wheel and I did it in a couple of mornings before work ( I work second shift) just have a helper to help stab the column back in and hook everything back up like it was. No sense dreading it and putting up with the active handling not working right.
Also took mine off but it couldn't be repaired. Bought an used/refurbished unit from the auction site for $250 and sold my old one to absfixer for $50.
